Meet our Judges

Tenzing Nyentsey

Tenzing Nyentsey

Associate Professor, School of Design
MEd, Harvard Graduate School of Education

Tenzing Nyentsey, an Associate Professor at the School of Design, has over 20 years of professional experience spanning design, education and social innovation. He focuses on project-based learning, enabling students to build deep understanding, transferable skills and meaningful community impact. He also contributes to curriculum innovation and pedagogical development.

At Anant University , Tenzing works across design departments, integrating creative thinking with the science of how people learn, emerging technologies and social impact frameworks. His teaching approach is grounded in learning sciences, emphasising active and experiential learning, metacognition, cognitive scaffolding and reflection.

Tenzing has a Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, with a specialisation in learning design, innovation and technology. He also holds a Bachelor’s in Design in Exhibition Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

He was the co-founder and former Managing Director of Echostream Pvt Ltd, a design studio in Sikkim, where he led over 50 impact-driven projects across education, sustainability, rural development and tourism.

Tenzing has collaborated with government agencies, non-profits and global organisations, including the Boston Mayor’s Office SPACE Grant programme, the Ministry of Rural Development, Hindustan Unilever, Xynteo and IIT Bombay’s IDC School of Design. He was part of the curriculum development team under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), contributing to the creation of India’s K–12 Design curriculum.

He also founded BREW, a collaborative creative learning studio for youth that fosters entrepreneurship and design thinking through project-based learning. Alongside practice, he has over ten years of teaching experience as a visiting faculty at the National Institute of Design.

Earlier, Tenzing served as a Creative Lead at POGO (Warner Bros Discovery), where he produced FAQ, a science education television series for children, combining storytelling, experimentation and visual learning.
